«The german metal scene is growing. Many good bands come up these days. The festivals here in Germany are getting bigger and bigger and even in the Billboard charts we have bands like Powerwolf on the first position from time to time.

I’d like to welcome you to Dioses del Metal and tell you how excited I am talking to you! I’d like to know how was the beginning of the band?

Björn: Hi, thanks for this interview. We are now active since 2006. At first the band was just a fun project of Tobias an me (Björn). After a while we decided to try if we can make it a real band. After some weeks we completed the line-up with the guys you can see today in the bands line-up. We had not to change a single person and i hope we can go on as long as possible with the same line-up. After we completed the line-up we recorded our first demo cd. We released 2 demo CDs and 2 official label releases so far.

How was the reception of “Rise of resistance” in Germany and all over the world?

Björn: The reactions on the new material were really cool so far. We received a lot of positive feedback from all over the world. It feels great to receive so many positive energy and we really appreciate every single mail or post.

Your style is a very German Power Metal, but I recognized some American Metal influences from bands like Iced Earth and Jag Panzer, do you agree with me? What are your actual musical influences?

Björn: Yes i definetly agree with you on that point. The main influence comes from US style Metal or Power Metal. The influence within the band has a wide range. Almost every band member prefers a different style of metal but we have enough musical interessets in common so that we can create the music you hear when you listen to Circle Of Silence

One of the things that surprised me most was the fact that Nikias Kein is closer to Tom Araya than to Ralf Scheepers, but even so he is very melodic.

Björn: Well, i think that depends on the color of his voice. He likes this melodic style of metal a lot but for Circle Of Silence he created a mix of melodic style vocals and rough sounding elements. I think this fits perfect for the music and makes the whole sound even more unique.

How was the composition and the recording of “Rise of resistance”?

Björn: The songwriting process was quite long this time. We started immediatly after the release of “The Blackened Halo” in 2011. At the end it was a bit annoying because we had to deal with several equipment and health problems. But we managed it to finish the last songs in time. The recording process went quite well until we had to face some health problems again. We almost had to push back the release date because we could not finish the cd. As you see we had a lot of fun this time. Haha.

How do you si the German music parade nowadays? I think there are some very interesting bands like Downspirit, Glosaba… and you, of course.

Björn: The german metal scene is growing. Many good bands come up these days. Even in our hometown we have 3 or 4 bands that made it to get a record deal and our hometown is not that big. Metal in general is nowadays a big thing i think. The festivals here in Germany are getting bigger and bigger and even in the Billboard charts we have bands like Powerwolf on the first position from time to time.

Do you have a presentation tour in mind? As I am from Argentine, I’d like to know if you will visit South America.

Björn: There are no plans for a tour at the moment. We all have regular and time consuming jobs so it is very difficult to play a tour. But we try our best, so that we hope that we can play as much as possible for the new record.

What are the future plans of Circle of Silence?

Björn: We just signed a contract with the booking agency RED ROCK Management. With this partnership we hope to get the chance to play more and bigger festivals to reach more fans with our music. At the end of the year we will start the new songwriting session for the follow up to “The Rise Of Resistance”.

In order to end this interview, would you share a message to Dioses del Metal readers?

Björn: We want to say a big thank you to all our fans in South America for their support. We hope that we can make it one day to travel around the globe to play for you. Stay heavy!!

It was a pleasure talking to you, good luck!

Björn: Thanks for the interview, have a nice day!.
